FREEDOM HAWK: Ripple Music to release self-titled album from vintage rock pioneers | Stream and share now!

Ripple Music is thrilled to announce the upcoming rerelease Freedom Hawk; the self-titled 2009 album from vintage rock pioneers Freedom Hawk.

Hailing from the barrier dunes of Virginia, the quartet blend heavy riffs into rolling grooves and soulful guitar melodies to showcase their sound. Widely recognized as one of the leading forces in the retro-rock movement, their exceptional brand of heavy and high energy live shows leaves many questioning whether they’ve stepped through a time warp directly out of the ’70s hard rock heyday. Wrapped in core metal tones with slight psychedelic edges Freedom Hawk’s driving beat and heavy guitars offer the kind of timeless vocals that gave light to the dawn of the new and heavy revival.

Freedom Hawk by Freedom Hawk is released worldwide on 17th November 2017 on vinyl and CD. For more info visit www.ripple-music.com and stream and share the album in full below:

MOTHERSHIP: Texan rockers return for UK/EU tour this summer | New LP out this month on Ripple Music

Texan psych rockers Mothership are set to cross the Atlantic this summer and crash onto European shores with a tour in support of their brand new studio album, High Strangeness.

Formed in 2010 by brothers Kyle and Kelley Juett and later joined by Judge Smith on drums, the trio have gained a solid reputation as non-stop road warriors, sharing stages with the likes of Slayer, Alice In Chains, Ghost and Baroness in the last twelve months alone. With a tireless work ethic that has seen them play countless festivals, nightclubs, bars and motorcycle parties across the USA, Canada and Europe, the band were rewarded for their efforts last year winning Dallas’ Best Metal Act at the 2016 Dallas Observer Music Awards.

Released on 17th March, High Strangeness is the third studio album and highly anticipated follow-up to their 2014 Ripple Music-released LP, Mothership II. Recorded by Ryan Lee (Crypt Trip) and mastered by Tony Reed (Mos Generator/Stone Axe) it delivers eight songs of “supersonic intergalactic heavy rock” in an amped-up take on ’70s rock and roll fury, laced with everything, from electrifying psychedelics to progressive space rock elements.

Returning to Europe later this summer the band kick off their journey with an appearance at Freak Valley Festival in Germany on 17th June before arriving in the UK for a string of dates with rising rockers Poseidon in support.

We Hunt Buffalo return with new album Living Ghosts on Fuzzorama Records

“We Hunt Buffalo have incredible things awaiting them, I wouldn’t try to stand in their way.”
Heavy Planet

Fuzzorama Records is pleased to announce the release of Living Ghosts, the brand new album from Canadian psychedelic fuzz rockers We Hunt Buffalo.

Formed in the suburbs of Vancouver in 2010, with their debut EP the trio introduced the underground to a new band that in the words of Georgia Straight were, “dedicated to tracking down and capturing a dying breed of rock and roll.”

In hardly no time at all the band went on to generate a local buzz around the city’s rock scene where they soon crossed paths with Tanis Gibbons, apprentice to Colin Steward at local recording studio ‘The Hive’. Cutting their first full-length with Gibbons in 2011 – the self-titled We Hunt Buffalo – the album packed hard hitting, fuzz rock grooves and psychedelic metal in the spirit of Queens Of The Stone Age and Soundgarden. Fuelled by local acclaim, the band continued to play dirty rock and roll in and around Vancouver to a mounting fan base and in 2013 went on to release the EP Blood From A Stone, recorded at Nimbus School of Recording Arts by Alex ‘Condor’ Aligizakis. Of the EP’s title track Exclaim! Magazine described, “A fuzz-bomb riff that would make Tom Morello proud. A headbanger’s paradise.”

Throughout 2013 the band toured and performed with the likes of Sleepy Sun, Band of Skulls and Biblical and was added as main support to Monster Truck on their cross Canada tour later that same year. Fast-forward to today and the band has racked up notable support slots with Red Fang, Cancer Bats, Chevelle, Danko Jones, Electric Six and Steel Panther, along with an unforgettable appearance at Victoria’s Rifflandia Festival.

Recorded by Jesse Gander (Bison, Japandroids, Anciients) at Raincity Recorders Living Ghosts will get an official release on Swedish record label Fuzzorama on 25th September.

Space Probe Taurus to release new album Mondo Satan via Ripple Music

“Space Probe Taurus wrote some of the best riffs and songs early Monster Magnet never did!”
Terrorizer

This April, acclaimed hard-hitting acid rockers Space Probe Taurus congregate with fellow psych worshippers Ripple Music to release their latest foray into the world of biker-flicks, lysergic rock ‘n’ roll and feral fuzz.

Ladies and gentlemen, may we present for your listening pleasure ‘The Iguana’, taken from their soon to be unleashed new album Mondo Satanhttps://soundcloud.com/ripplemusic/09-the-iguana-space-probe-taurus-ripple-music

Originally formed as Snake Machine in 1992 it wasn’t until a name change and shortening of their songs in ’97 that the band settled into doing what they do best; preaching the gospel of dirty garage rock. Swedish style.

Often compared to the likes of Mudhoney, The Stooges, MC5 and Blue Cheer – the latter of whom SPT paid tribute to with a ripping cut of ‘Second Time Around’ on Black Widow Records’ Blue Explosion – their music is influenced by late ’60s psych rock and low-budget B-movies like Psychomania and Angels From Hell. (An obsession that quickly led on to the band contributing music to the 2005 snuff documentary Actress Apocalypse and I Am Vengeance in 2012.)
Mondo Satan is the band’s follow up to their self-titled debut album from 2008 and will be released worldwide via Ripple Music on 28th April 2015.
