Introducing WOORMS: Schizoid Noise Punk/Doom bruisers’ new single and debut album

Formed in 2017 in Louisiana, WOORMS – featuring guitarist/vocalist Joey Carbo, bassist John Robinson, and drummer Aaron Polk – are something of a sleeping colossus. Based in Baton Rouge, the band has been delivering a devastating and brutal mélange of riffs and noise-rock righteousness on the precipice of significance for quite some time.

Despite only being a year or so into their sonic existence WOORMS has racked up a number of releases; a collection of demos, digital one-offs (‘Daddy Was A Masker’) and most recently a split with NOLA thrashers, A Hanging. Now, with the release of their first official single, WOORMS will finally awaken from their delirious slumber.

The Math Says, Yes, is for all intents and purposes the perfect introduction to the band; A lumbering, slow-climbing symphony of noise-rock, which at its peak, slow-burns with the fire of Neurosis and from the pinnacle to the point of no return, falls psychotically through the unholy grind of bands like KARP and The Jesus Lizard. In itself the arrival of this new single is reason enough to get excited, but with the band currently holed up in the studio putting the final touches on their debut album (B-side demo ‘Stiff Upper Lisp’ is a taste of things to come) WOORMS are readying themselves for domination.

The Math Says, Yes, the brand new single by WOORMS will be officially released on all streaming services from 24th August 2018. To order the limited edition 8” square lathe cut and 7″ split colour vinyl variants, featuring artwork by Mow Skowz and David Paul Seymour, visit – https://woorms.bandcamp.com

“‘The Math Says Yes’ rams together The Jesus Lizard, Eyehategod and Neurosis into a swampy hodgepodge full of shifting musical personalities […] This trio is heavy on cosmic weirdness.”

MR. PLOW: Texan stoner rockers to release new album on Ripple Music | Stream and share new song ‘Sigil’

This August will see the official worldwide release of Maintain Radio Silence, the brand-new studio album from Houston-based stoner rockers Mr. Plow, on the influential heavy-rock; stoner, doom and psych label, Ripple Music.

Mr. Plow were originally formed over twenty years ago, back when bands like Kyuss and Fu Manchu were blowing out speakers in car systems and the term “Stoner Rock” was not only entering its formative years but the common lexicon of every rock-loving music writer across the land.

“I’ve been a huge fan of Mr. Plow since their early days,” explains Ripple Music founder, Todd Severin. “I personally have all their albums in my collection, so it was a no-brainer to ask the lads to join the Ripple family. The new album is better than anything I’ve ever heard from them before and will definitely open up new ears and eyes in the stoner/doom community.”

While the band were unmistakably influenced by the times they often sought a different direction lyrically. Instead of pursuing dark and evil lines of enquiry, they favoured riffs of a hookier variety and pop-culture references as you’ll no doubt recognise from their excellent name. Less about skulls and satanic imagery and more about skate parks in the summertime, with songs fashioned after author Kurt Vonnegut, curious Cannibal Corpse covers (check out Maintain Radio Silence’s take on ‘Hammer Smashed Face’), comic books, J.R.R. Tolkien and of course, The Simpsons, Mr. Plow take inspiration wherever inspiration strikes.

Maintain Radio Silence by Mr. Plow is released worldwide on 10th August through Ripple Music. Pre-order now at http://www.ripple-music.com and stream and share new song ‘Sigil’ here – https://soundcloud.com/ripple-music/mr-plow-sigil

Introducing BEERWOLF: Floridian blues doom trio to release Planetfall album on Ripple Music

Ripple Music is thrilled to announce the official worldwide release of Planetfall, the sophomore album by Floridian blues doom trio, Beerwolf.

Originally self-released last October, the album quickly came to Ripple Music’s attention, largely via cult commendations from fans, players and followers alike across the online community. Throbbing with doom-laden and imposing compositions like, ‘Serpentine Fiend’ and ‘Haze Arcane’, along with phased riffs and pulsating rhythms, for the Tampa Bay trio Planetfall marks a huge step up from their 2015 debut, Oracle Prophecy.

For those that already au fait with the old school aesthetics of 70’s hard and classic rock, gnarly and gnarled desert fuzz and swirling guitar solos, Beerwolf were practically raised to hunt you down. And now, thanks to the solid appreciation of those at Ripple Music they will have that rare second chance to make a killer first impression, on a grander stage and to a wider audience when the album gets its official worldwide release next month.

Planetfall by Beerwolf is officially released worldwide on 24th August through Ripple Music. Stream and share the album in full here and pre-order from Ripple Music here.

“Planetfall is a superb album that’s sure to be a serious contender for many of those end of year lists so beloved by fans and critics alike.”

MetalSucks Debuts New Song from Swedish Spectral-Doom group, KINGNOMAD | New album released this Friday on Ripple Music

Swedish psychedelic doom band Kingnomad is very much a product of the riffs that inspired them.

Initially formed in 2014 by best friends Jay and Marcus while hanging out in Jay’s studio basement jamming on Black Sabbath grooves and downing bottomless beers, the pair soon stumbled onto the first riff of their own making. Over the space of one evening evolved the song ‘Lucifer Is Dead’, and with that one track followed a newfound purpose.

Setting off on a quest to forge music from the influence of hard and heavy 70s rock, psychedelic flights of fancy and the hauntingly ethereal worlds of H.P. Lovecraft, the main driving force behind Kingnomad was to have as much fun as possible. Recruiting the only two people that they knew were qualified enough to orchestrate a killer rhythm section, into the fold came Andreas on drums and Maximilian on bass.

With the quartet retreating back to Jay’s basement – newly christened the “The Room of Doom” – material flowed like a never-ending stream of occult energy. Songs were written, parts recorded and almost as if by magic they found themselves propelled forward in time, primed and ready to release what they had created. Closely courted by Ripple Music they were asked to contribute to “Chapter III” in the label’s ongoing underground series, The Second Coming of Heavy, with Michigan rockers Bonehawk. And with the alchemy of creativity burning fervently in their minds, a new batch of original songs were recorded for their debut album, Mapping The Inner Void, which was released in February of last year.

Fast forward on to 2018 and The Great Nothing, the brand new studio album from Kingnomad will be released on 7th July 2018 via Ripple Music. A magnificent blend of ghostly pop-metal and darkened rock, it showcases the Swedes’ sumptuous songwriting and pitch-perfect, hard rock dynamics. Expertly paced, the record builds momentum and mood before perfectly pivoting to the climatic closing of its epic, 22-minute title track.

In advance of the record’s release, MetalSucks has premiered the new track ‘Cosmic Serpent’, which you can check out here – http://www.metalsucks.net/2018/07/03/track-premiere-kingnomad-cosmic-serpent/

“Kingnomad is a prime example of what should be done during the process of writing music; their passion and love for the art shows endlessly through out this album. No gimmicks. No frills. Just pure rock and roll.”
PURE GRAIN AUDIO

“A classic sixties style psychedelic edge where the vocals impress from the start. The doom and gloom atmospherics allows Kingnomad to have some devilish fun.”
OUTLAWS OF THE SUN

“Steeped in the finest occult doom encased in the richest hard rock from the era of Black Sabbath and Captain Beyond, Kingnomad’s debut drifts effortlessly through the Elysian Fields that have since given birth to the likes of Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, and they are right at home here.”
