Featuring David Lee on drums, Brett “The Butcher” Sanders on bass and Dylan Jarman on vocals/lead guitar, ShotgunSawyer offers up a heavy and authentic approach to the raw Delta Blues sound.

With influences including blues masters such as Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, British Invasion rock ‘n’ rollers Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, and Seattle Grunge greats Soundgarden and Nirvana, their collaborative effort is the perfect synthesis of all generations of riff-based rock, past and present.

Brett and Dylan, friends since childhood, have played music together for nearly as long. Accepting an invitation to a jam session in January 2015, experienced drummer David Lee proved to be the missing element to the vintage-style tunes Sanders and Jarman had always envisioned. In a single evening, with the three of them sharing new ideas, possibilities, and ambitions, something clicked; just days later, ShotgunSawyer took the stage at a local open mic. The result was a thundering, passionate, and unique mixture of groovy bass licks, crunchy riffs, powerful vocals, and searing guitar solos, all underpinned by virtuosic drumming.

Since that night, the trio have played San Francisco psych shows, Reno rock jams and everywhere in between, culminating with a successful tour of the European Continent last summer.

With Bury The Hatchet – the follow-up to their impressive 2016 debut, Thunderchief – the band aims to bring a new energy to that classic rock swagger. Singer/guitarist Dylan Jarman elaborates, “For Bury The Hatchet, we teamed up with Cody Tarbell of the mighty Slow Season at his Double Wide Studios to create the most raw, unfiltered, authentic record we could imagine. Recorded live, with absolutely no instrumental dubs and using only analogue tape and technologies, the result was the most honest presentation of our band possible.”

Bury The Hatchet by ShotgunSawyer is officially released on 19th April 2019 on Ripple Music, and you can stream and share new song ‘(Let Me) Take You Home’ here – https://soundcloud.com/ripple-music/shotgun-sawyer-ain-t-tryin-to-go-down-slow-let-me-take-you-home

Ohio hard rock quartet VALLEY OF THE SUN return with new album on FUZZORAMA RECORDS

“Valley of the Sun sound like one of those bands best experienced in a dive bar with sweat dripping off the walls – a perfect setting for the short, sharp shock of ‘The Hunt’, the QOTSA-esque jaunt of ‘Land of Fools’, where Ryan Ferrier’s huge vocals sound like Steven Tyler experiencing an exorcism.”
METAL HAMMER

“There’s no question that Valley of the Sun are placing themselves at the forefront of the new generation of American heavy rock.”
THE OBELISK

“Volume Rock may go down as one of the best stoner rock albums of the year because it understands how to go full-throttle joyously. The album is the result of the band firing on all cylinders.”

Fuzzorama Records – home to world beating rock of Truckfighters, Deville and Skraeckoedlan – is thrilled to announce the release of Old Gods; the brand-new studio album US trio, Valley of the Sun.

Formed in Cincinnati, OH in 2010, the band instantly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with, thanks to an impressive succession of self-released EPs; the kind that never seem to go unnoticed/unheard for long. Often compared to the likes of Corrosion of Conformity, Alice in Chains and Badmotorfinger-era Soundgarden – the latter due in no small part to singer Ryan Ferrier’s exemplary vocal range – listeners are treated to a sound that runs the gamut of blues, hard rock, grunge and heavy metal; with big riffs, fuzzed out hooks and deep bass grooves.

For the band, whose last release came in 2016 with the impressive Volume Rock, new album Old Gods – their third album on Fuzzorama Records – is a new and exciting concoction expertly packaged and delivered with a raw and unbridled power whether listened to via stage or speaker. In this incarnation, incorporating heady moments of psychedelia and assuming a form unlike anything the band has ever attempted before.

“To me, Old Gods is a meditation on who I once was, who I am now, and who I’d like to become,” explains guitarist/vocalist Ryan Ferrier.

“We try to evolve with each album,” adds drummer Aaron Boyer. “On Old Gods we added some heavier elements, darker tones, and a touch of psychedelia. We tried some things on this record that we’ve never done before and that made it a lot of fun to make.”

Old Gods by Valley of the Sun is released on 24th May 2019 and can be pre-ordered via Fuzzorama Records HERE. Editions of Old Gods will include gatefold splatter (only sold at live shows and directly through Fuzzorama), gatefold transparent green, gatefold black and CD digipak.

CITIES OF MARS: Swedish Doom Trio team up with RIPPLE MUSIC for THE HOROLOGIST

Formed in 2014 in Gothenburg by bassist/singer Danne Palm, guitarist Christoffer Norén and drummer Johan Küchler, Cities of Mars take a lead from the likes of Mastodon, Kylesa, Sleep and Baroness.

Combining heavy doom riffs, ambient soundscapes and haunting vocals, there’s an unmistakable sci-fi narrative that flows through their music, helping them to push boundaries and channel their unique firebrand of heavy progressive rock.

As chief proponents of stoner metal and corporeal ancestors in a revered lineage of Swedish doom rock history, following the success of their inaugural/self-released digital single ‘The Third Eye/Cyclopean Ritual’ (produced by Esben Willems of Monolord/Berserk Audio) the band wasted no time in setting out to record, Celestial Mistress. Released in 2016 on Suicide Records, this mind-crushing EP – featuring the captivating artwork of Gothenburg-based graphic artist Axel Widén – truly signalled the band’s arrival on the underground scene.

Cities of Mars have embarked on numerous European tours since their inception and new shows heralded the arrival of new songs, all of which fed into the release of their debut album, Temporal Rifts (2017). With the lyrics on each song adding a chapter to a continuing story, Temporal Rifts follows the ascent of a Soviet cosmonaut on a covert space mission in 1971 and his discovery of an ancient Martian city that awakens a sleeping conspiracy from the dawn of humanity.

This April the saga continues, following three solid years of writing, jamming and touring under their collective belts. Now working alongside Ripple Music label and the management skills of Blackskull Services, Cities of Mars will unleash their awesome new album The Horologist on 5th April 2019. CRACKED MACHINE: Psychedelic post-rockers to release new album, THE CALL OF THE VOID

Originally formed in Wiltshire in 2015 by guitarist Bill Denton, Cracked Machine is a quartet of experienced musicians brought together in a quest for aural mayhem.

Known for their commanding and mesmerising live shows, since their formation the band has shared stages with the likes of The Spacelords, Deaf Radio and Qujaku. With the band’s debut album, I, Cosmonaut, still ringing in the ears of those in the know following its release last May on PsyKa Records, follow up album The Call of the Void digs its musical heels in even deeper.

“We have all come from different musical backgrounds,” explains Denton. “Which can sometimes be a tricky situation, but we have developed a style and method of working that embraces the differences. There’s a lot of jamming involved in our creative process and we’ve learnt how to be fairly ruthless with ideas when they don’t work and equally we don’t overthink ideas that do. We definitely thrive on the improvisation side of playing.”

Hook-laden guitars conjure soaring post-rock vistas and showcase a huge progression in their song writing, a progression that’s reconfigured Cracked Machine into a leaner, meaner, and ultimately, heavier sounding machine. While they are happy to hold court and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the likes of Toundra, Forming the Void and Explosions in the Sky, sonically they are more than capable of capturing the throne from right under their noses.

Fully realised and breath-taking in its execution, Cracked Machine’s brilliant new album The Call of the Void will be released on digital, vinyl (black or orange/transparent edition) and CD through PsyKa Records on 12th April 2019 (Pre-order album CD/ Vinyl)
