Swedish Doom Raiders WITCHERS CREED Unearth Hard Rock Devastation with Debut

Ripple Music is thrilled to announce the release of Awakened From The Tomb…,the debut album from fledgling young doom raiders, Witchers Creed.

Founded in Katrineholm, Sweden in 2016 by guitarist Filip Andersson, bassist Emil Bjällerhag and drummer Charlie Rangstedt, while invoking the enduring sounds of acts like Trouble, Witchfinder General and Candlemass, the band are in fact one of the youngest groups to peddle their riffs amidst the current crop of Swedish Doom Metal musicals.

To go back even further to 2011, Filip and Charlie both met in seventh grade and formed a band called Illusion, inspired by cult 70s rockers November. Sharing their love of rock and metal with everyone in earshot, the pair soon recruited close friend and German classmate Emil Bjällerhag to sing lead vocals. Sadly, things went south for the ambitious young band in 2015 when they lost their drummer Leo Karlsson to personal issues, but the core of Illusion remained, and the trio talked long and hard about the formation of a new band. A new undertaking, similar in style but even heavier, meaner. They all loved Black Sabbath and that ’70s hard rock sound, along with ’80s metal and early psychedelia. As soon as the band left high school in late 2016, Witcher’s Creed was born.

There was no time to lose.

Following the release of their first demo EP in 2017 the band scored praise from across the world and within a matter of months had released a second EP, gained an invitation to major rock festival in the Ukraine and shared stages with fellow countrymen, Hypnos. Less than a year ago – shortly after coming to the attention of the prodigious record label Ripple Music at RippleFest Sweden II – the band entered Sunlight Studio, the legendary cradle of the Swedish Death Metal sound to record their debut album. Make no mistake, things move fast when you’re that good and you better believe that Witchers Creed are legends in the making. Catch them now as they step out of the grave, because who knows where 2019 will lead them.

Awakened From The Tomb… is officially released on 22nd February 2019 on Ripple Music but you can stream and share new song ‘Monolith’ ahead of it release, below:

Australia’s Rising Riff Lords AVER to release Orbis Majora album

AVER on Bandcamp | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram

Ripple Music is thrilled to announce that its first official release of 2019 will be Orbis Majora, the brand-new album from one of the boldest and brightest new bands to emerge from the southern hemisphere in recent years; Australian space rockers, AVER.

Following on from the release of Nadir in 2015, an album that produced more than its fair share of online fanfare and dedicated followers in the stoner/psych community, Orbis Majora will no doubt prove itself to be one of the most exciting and distinctive records of 2019. Fearlessly taking their music exactly where it needs to go and packing enough technical nous and talent to power an exploratory vessel of sound and substance, the album propels listeners through soaring instrumentals (‘Feeding the Sun’), heavy psychedelia (‘Hemp Fandango’) and spine-crushing progressive cadences. Like a torrent of celestial hail dancing around the inside of your skull, AVER are weighted somewhere between the worlds, galaxies and supernovae of stoner metal and space rock.

For the quartet – who originally formed on the Northern shores of Sydney back in 2008 – their signing to the Californian label heralds yet another stellar addition to the ever-growing Ripple Music Family, and the beginning of a journey out of the underground and into the void.

Orbis Majora by AVER will be officially released worldwide on 18th January 2019 on Ripple Music. Stream and share new song ‘Feeding the Sun’ below.

Swedish fuzz-fictioneers SKRAECKOEDLAN explore new worlds with EORÞE

Formed in the city of Norrköping in 2009, Skraeckoedlan – a reference to ‘Godzilla’ in Swedish – are one of the most ambitious, original and multidimensional bands to emerge from Scandinavia in recent years.

Like Galactus-in-reverse, their talent for constructing new worlds from the building blocks of heavy psychedelia and progressive rock is simply awe inspiring, and this February will see the release of their most accomplished vision yet… Eorþe (Translated; Earth).

In collaboration with sci-fi author Nils Håkansson who wrote the story behind the album specifically for Skraeckoedlan, Eorþe is set in the 1920s amid a mystery heavy with Lovecraftian influence and philosophical nuances. As the band explains, “This is by far our most ambitious work of art yet. It’s been a real challenge to do someone else’s story justice whilst making the songs cohesive as well as standing strong on their own. It took a lot of effort, but we’ve done just that.”

Having loyally served as heralds to Nordic folklore and science fiction since their inception, following the release of their early EPs in 2010 the band gained the kind of attention that could only lead on to the creation of a much-admired debut album in Äppelträdet (2011, translated; The Apple Tree) produced by Oskar Cedermalm from the legendary fuzz band Truckfighters.

Live shows with the likes of Orange Goblin, Kylesa, Greenleaf and other giants of the genre followed in the wake of Äppelträdet’s success and in 2015, with production underway on their follow-up album Sagor (Translated; Tales) Skraeckoedlan worked with a number of acclaimed producers including Niklas Berglöf (Ghost, Den Svenska Björnstammen) and Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In Flames, El Caco).

It wasn’t however until they met producer and technician Erik Berglund that they really found what was missing. Lifting the band to entirely new levels of musicianship, under his tutelage the creative process for Sagor not only left the band with an album they were immensely proud of, but one that sat deservedly at number two in the national Swedish vinyl sales chart in August, 2015.

Heading into 2019 with the help of Fuzzorama Records, Skraeckoedlan steer a course to Eorþe, their first album in over three years and undoubtedly their most progressive. With the big metal riffs of new single ‘Kung Mammut’ riding shotgun alongside the more introspective and explorative moments of songs like ‘Mammutkungens Barn’ and ‘Angra Mainyu’, the trio have cut a definitive and spellbinding record of light and dark. In addition to the CD and standard vinyl editions, Eorþe will also come in a limited-edition box set which sees the album split across two gatefold vinyl records; Earth: Above and Earth: Below. The set will come packed with pieces of merchandise that revolve around the story and feature alternative artwork.

Belgian heavy psych trio MY DILIGENCE to release new album on Mottow Soundz | Stream and share new song ‘Resentful’ now!

Sun Rose by My Diligence will be released 25th January 2019 on Mottow Soundz and the band will host an official release party at Botanique, Brussels on 30th January – https://www.botanique.be/fr/activite/my-diligence-s-o-r-o-r-300119

Rising up from the streets of Brussels, My Diligence is a band that in recent years have come to transcend rock in their native Belgium with a skill and ease reminiscent of their transatlantic peers.

For fans already in the know, the progressive rock aplomb of established acts like Torche, Helmet and Elder resonate wildly in their sound. Big, bold and high in intensity, the Belgian trio deliver a non-stop, ass kicking brand of no-nonsense rock ‘n’ roll that scorches the sky, while leveling the playing field.

The success of their 2014 EP, Who Killed The Driver, along with their self-titled debut album from 2015 showcased as much, and at the same time laid down the foundations for Sun Rose, their eagerly awaited follow-up album, due for release this January on Mottow Soundz. Recorded at Studio Pyramide by producer François Vincent (Romano Nervoso, Thot), Sun Rose features a heavy mix of riffs – bigger and more bombastic than ever – interwoven with sincere lyrics and unforgettable grooves, like those found on ‘Resentful’, and capture the trio’s fresh and exciting ideas around how they feel rock should sound. As drummer Gabriel Marlier explains:

“‘Resentful’ was actually the first song we wrote when we started writing our second album. We wanted to push things forward and become heavier than ever and this song in particular signals a rebirth of My Diligence. My Diligence Mk. II. After our previous bassist’s departure we just wanted to two guitarists, one drummer and a chance to get rid of the past and focus on the future. The song is about addiction and we had no doubt about it, it had to open Sun Rose.”

Fully realised and breath-taking in its execution, Sun Rose is a remarkable take on twenty-first century rock ‘n’ roll and one that will capture the hearts and ears of those seeking more.

My Diligence’s new album, Sun Rose, will be released on Friday 25th January 2019 on Mottow Soundz and the band will host an official release party at Botanique, Brussels on Wednesday 30th January – https://www.botanique.be/fr/activite/my-diligence-s-o-r-o-r-300119
