This summer will see the first official vinyl release from Majestic Mountain Records, a brand-new imprint specialising in rock, stoner, doom and heavy psych.
Based in Stockholm, Sweden and set up by long-serving fan and close follower of the underground, Marco Berg, the label has just announced the signing of Norwegian power trio, Saint Karloff, along with occult/riff worshippers, Devil Witches, who will each contribute one side to a Split LP.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the Majestic Mountain family,” explains Saint Karloff’s Mads Melvold. “Marco has been one of our greatest supporters ever since we put out our first album, and we’re looking forward to achieving great things together. It’s an honour being their first release alongside the mighty Devil’s Witches, who we are all great fans of.”
The unusual yet usually allusive Witchdoctor General of Devil’s Witches also wanted to share in the respect given to Berg, with Melvod’s vinyl ally breaking silence to elaborate on his excitement for the project:
“We’re honoured to be the first release of the new independent record label Majestic Mountain Records. The creative freedom that they allow is exactly the kind of company Devil’s Witches embraces. This isn’t just a majestic mountain, nay, it is indeed THE MOUNTAIN OF THE DEVIL’S WITCH!”
With plans already in place for a second release later in the year – a full-length album by Saint Karloff has just been confirmed – stay tuned for more details about both vinyl releases, along with regular updates from one of the scene’s most exciting new labels, Majestic Mountain Records.

Hard-hitting power trio Saint Karloff have been making their mark on the international heavy music scene since the release of their debut album, All Heed the Black God, in 2018. Featuring Mads Melvold on guitar and vocals, Ole Sletner on bass, and Adam Suleiman on drums, this Norwegian band is influenced by the music of yesterday and the world of today. Rising to fourth place on the Doom Charts, generating two mind-bending music videos for ‘Ghost Smoker’ and ‘Spellburn’, and garnering praise from critics all around the world, All Heed the Black God, was inspired by 70’s heavy blues bands like Black Sabbath and early Pentagram, and allowed the band to fuse this vintage sound with modern day stoner rock to create something that was uniquely their own. Now in 2019, the band is raising their song writing to the next level with new material that is heavier, more psychedelic and more complex. As Ghost Cult Magazine pointed out recently, “When one ingredient looks set to steal the show, another comes to the fore with flawless timing, creating an organic flow which sounds wonderfully retro yet urgent. These guys can be huge.”

Devils Witches return following on from multiple sell-out presses of their debut album Velvet Magic and EPs, Porno Witches & Vietnam Veterans and The Audio-Erotic Collection. After two years of grooving and dooming the underground music scene the band has added a guest bassist, Andy Shardlow from The Kings Pistol who joins the mysterious founding member and multi-instrumentalist, Witchdoctor General. Never one to play by the rules while gleefully subverting expectations Devil’s Witches is not slowing down. As Electric Wizard’s Jus Oborn explains, “Weird underground heavy metal psych lounge… kinda undefinable. It’s definitely heavy but veers into bubble gummy pop and ’70s lounge music at the drop of a hat. Inspired by drugs, retro porn and the Vietnam war… it’s like an alternative soundtrack to Apocalypse Now”.
