Since their formation in Cardiff in 2016, Obey Cobra’s journey from underground urchins to challengers for the new psych throne has been one of sonic notoriety.

Building entire empires on motorik kraut rock rhythms, heavy electronica and scything post-punk riffs through fields of progressive noir, their self-titled debut was as much a statement of intent as it was an introduction to the world at large.

Obey Cobra’s otherworldly murky darkness can enter your everyday psyche, leaving an eerie impression like an uncanny mind puzzle where the band slit-like pupil’s – focus – target like, to grab your immediate attention, none more so than on their latest entrancing Gnostic Shock EP, which is released on Friday 18th October.

Join the South Wales psychic seers as they hunt cataleptic dimensions via their trademark gnarly post-punk, and trade blows in repetitive mind-blanking fear with two $hit & $hine remixes and another under their own Super Clwb moniker.

Not content however with keeping exquisitely loud and experimental company, following support shows and performances alongside the likes of Melt-Banana, Part Chimp, Acid Mothers Temple and TVAM, this November the Welsh quartet step into the abyss with their first tour outside the UK.

“When we first started writing this album, we didn’t think that it would lead take us across Europe,” explains vocalist, Kate Woodward. “But here we are, and we’re beyond excited to share this mind-melding live experience with you as we tour Mwg Drwg across so many different countries.”

Mwg Drwg is available now on Rocket Recordings and can be purchased here, stream, share and purchase their new Gnostic Shock EP here.
