We’re pleased to announce that the Belgian-based, Italian-born rocker Giac Taylor –the frontman of Romano Nervoso and “Godfather of Spaghetti Rock” – will return this month with a brand-new single; ‘Grim Reaper’.

Serving up a thunderous slice of self-styled Giallo Stoner rock, ‘Grim Reaper’ fuses doom-heavy riffs with cinematic tension inspired by 1970s Italian giallo cinema. Dark, stylish and dripping with menace, it showcases Taylor at his most direct and uncompromising. A snarling invocation balancing raw power with a warped sense of groove and atmosphere.

Originally born during the 2021 lockdown as a creative experiment – writing and recording full albums in a matter of days – the project quickly evolved into something far more urgent. Taylor’s most recent album, The Last Sicilian Standing, captured that recognisable explosive energy, blending heavy doom riffs, psychedelic textures and firebrand rock’n’roll swagger.

‘Grim Reaper’ heralds the next step forward, offering a ferocious first glimpse into Taylor’s upcoming material while staying true to the reckless spirit that defines his universe.

Since his first solo live show in March 2022, he has played 150+ concerts across Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, sharing stages with Fuzz, Osees, Danko Jones, Earth, Slift, The Murlocs, Unida and Charles Moothart, while appearing at major events including Desert Fest and Les Nuits du Botanique.

Recent sessions at the legendary Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree with Dave Catching (Eagles of Death Metal) and Steve McBean (Black Mountain) point toward an ambitious new era. ‘Grim Reaper’ is available digitally now and will also feature on Taylor’s forthcoming album Chunk, due for release later this year on vinyl, CD and digital formats.
