With a ferocious collision of D-beat fury, thrash precision, and classic heavy metal grandeur, Majestic Mountain Records is thrilled to announce the release of Blasfemisk Kängthrash, the brand-new EP from Stokholm duo, Nattskri.
At the core of Nattskri stands Swedish musician and lifelong metal devotee Freezing Jon, guided since 1984 by a trove of sacred rules including: There is no such thing as “too much metal”; a Celtic Frost intro featuring Tom G. Warrior’s immortal “Uh!” can never be overplayed; And whenever a pedestal appears, it must be smashed. Equal parts reverence and rebellion, this ethos defines the band’s sound.
Formed in 2015 with drummer Jonas Ohlsson (Septic Grave, Mr Death, The Grifted), Nattskri emerged from sheer determination. With no budget and no ready-made lineup, Jon wrote, produced, and performed the material himself, choosing to sing in Swedish for maximum impact. “I tend to find songs sung in the mother tongue more uncompromising in their expression,” he explains.
From EP opener ‘Invokation’, which blends chanting choirs and ritualistic riffing at the altar of dark forces, to the symphonic punk thrash of ‘Prometeus Låga’, Blasfemisk Kängthrash is riot of minor-key D-beat assaults, guitar duels, and nods to the likes of Mayhem and Accept. Recorded at Studio Pulverisera and in the woods around Stockholm – with guest appearances from Phil Assheton (piano) and Abbe Enström (acoustic guitar) – the EP is unapologetic and fiercely devoted to metal’s past, present, and future. Standing tall as both tribute and provocation, it is proof that true metal knows no limits.
Blasfemisk Kängthrash is released 6th March 2026 (pre-order here) and listen to ‘Dödens Hunger efter kött’ below!
