Parisian quintet Point Mort have never been a band to respect boundaries. Operating somewhere between metal, post-hardcore, pop, rap, rock and electronics, their singular brand of omnicore/chaotic pop-core thrives on contrast: beauty and brutality, vulnerability and ferocity, intricate arrangements and unrestrained emotional release.
Now, following a landmark return to Hellfest in 2026, the band are set to capture that experience on Live at Hellfest, released on 16th November 2026 via Almost Famous.
Hailing from the Paris region, Point Mort has spent years forging an uncompromising identity, refusing to be confined by genre or convention. From the sinuous, labyrinthine compositions of their early EP Look at the Sky to the ambitious songwriting of their debut album Pointless…, the quintet have consistently pushed their creative limits, embracing a raw, urgent approach that lays bare every emotion, vulnerability and rough edge.
Last year’s sophomore album, Le point de non-retour, marked another decisive step forward. Drawing on influences spanning pop, rap, rock and electro, the record sharpened their songwriting and expanded their sonic palette without sacrificing the visceral intensity at the heart of their music. The result earned the band widespread recognition, with extensive media coverage across Europe and the United States, a first cover feature in the national specialist press, and a packed schedule of live performances.
Yet it is on stage that Point Mort’s singular personality truly comes into focus. Having previously appeared at Hellfest in 2022, the band returned to the festival in 2026, taking to the Warzone stage in a performance that embodied everything that makes them such a compelling proposition. Combining devastating heaviness with disarming vulnerability, they delivered a set that was as emotionally affecting as it was physically explosive. Flowers, confetti and an unmistakable sense of generosity accompanied their characteristic blend of elegance and ferocity, creating a spectacle that extended far beyond the confines of a conventional metal performance.
The impact was such that Point Mort decided to preserve the moment for posterity, bringing the performance to a wider audience through Live at Hellfest. Accompanied by a video produced by Almost Famous and available to watch on YouTube, the release captures a band operating at the height of their powers, embracing the unpredictable energy of the live environment while reaffirming the creative freedom that has defined their journey.
With Live at Hellfest, Point Mort celebrate that duality in its most immediate form: a document of a defining performance, and a testament to the power of a band that continues to do things entirely on its own terms.
Live at Hellfest is released worldwide on 13th November 2026 via Almost Famous. Watch the live video for ‘Celebrity Spin’ here.
